I’m about to head off to water polo training but I wanted to write to say g’day
and share some learnings and insights to help you in the coming week.
This past week has been another enlightening one for myself and Blue Rocket..
Besides several people coming forward to want to join us as Affiliates to share
the Blue Rocket tools and systems with their friends and clients,
we saw again the power of working 1-1 and in small groups using our
Deliberate Practice Strategies with both beginning and advanced
SALES BLIND SPOTS
Even the most experienced sales people have sales blind spots..
doing or not doing key things that make ALL the difference in the sales process.
With our coaching, one super good sales person discovered he had stopped asking for the order on the spot, but had drifted into the habit of just ‘giving out a quote..’
Another realised he was continually focusing on sales he had lost, rather than sales he
had won… and was perpetuating guess what….? Losing more sales..
Both of them were completely blind to what they were doing..even though they were both highly intelligent, experienced people..
Without coaching, all of us will continue in patterns of thinking and behaviour that hold us back.
Coaching helps you discover the 1%er’s (or 20%ers) that make ALL the difference..
Of course, you need to be OPEN to be coached…. If you’re already too good, too
experienced, too brilliant..or too scared… even the best coaching won’t help…
Remember the old saying ..
‘When you’re green you’re growing, when you’re ripe you rot..’
What I meant to write about was how this week, both Barack Obama and the world’s smartest investor
Warren Buffet both came out and spoke about their OPTIMISM in the long term for the world economy..
Obama used words like ‘absolute confidence’ and ‘I couldn’t be any clearer..’..and
‘the US economy and political system were extraordinary’ in their ability to recover and provide stability..
Buffett acknowledged the economy had ‘fallen off a cliff’ but would be absolutely fine in
five years from now.
As leaders, we must all take responsibility to provide hope, optimism and a brighter day,
brighter future vision for the people we work, live and surround ourselves with..
Without hope, optimism or the vision of a brighter future, people move into
pessimism, anxiety and depression… We have seen this over the past few months..
Take the lead.. choose your words carefully…
Ask better questions…get better answers..
‘How do we use these times to create an even better, brighter future?’
‘How can we work together even better to come out of 2009 even stronger than we went into it?’
‘What can we learn from others to be more positive, more resourceful, more successful?’
There is always hope…
There is always a brighter day..better day…
Make sure you are the one shining the light..
