SORT IT OUT..AND MOVE ON.. CONVERT PROBLEMS INTO PROJECTS
With one of my clients this week, two of the teams were having their ‘issues’.
It was affecting production, customer service and overall company performance.
By getting together (in a facilitated environment) we were able to constructively turn the
issues into opportunities.. and the opportunities into action plans.
There was no fisty cuffs, name calling, anger, bruising..
It was all done in 3 hours.. and now as the MD has told me ‘the boys are buzzing…’
Make sure you sort things out FAST.. but FACILITATED… there is a process to follow to
go from problem to project team… find out how to do it and do it..
LESS I AND MORE U..CONVERT CONVERSATIONS INTO CASHFLOW
I was talking to some people this week who were struggling with sales results.. good people..
but it came clear that the reason the sales weren’t coming was that they were doing too much
TALKING.. and not enough LISTENING..
Even worse, the talking was all about I…… I……. I….. rather than U…….U…..U..
And the talking was not QUESTIONING about Your goals… Your needs….
Your frustrations… Your issues..
It was ‘what we do…’ ‘what I do…..’ ‘what we do… ‘ etc..
Watch out you don’t fall for that trap..
Needless to say… we did some coaching… and we’ll see in 30 days time if they LISTENED…
and APPLIED.. (two very important steps…)
RESULTS OR REASONS..CONVERT B.S INTO BANKABLES
I was listening to an interview this week from our friends at Money and You..
and DC Cordova reminded me of the principle… ‘in life.. you either have Results or Reasons…’
Your results are your results…… and your reasons are your ego giving you excuses,
justifications, stories to explain why you haven’t got the results you want … YET…
When you sit and look at your numbers… your results… you get immediate feedback
on what you need to do to change or improve them (if that is what you want to do..)
Most people keep themselves too busy or distracted to bother looking at the results…
We recommend at least a weekly team meeting to look at the results…
and if you work on 90 day themes as per the one page strategic plan we told
you about last week… you should be doing a 90 day Retreat to re-check…
